Don’t worry, they’re doing it with The Lorax now, plus some other movie I’ve never heard of.
DOBBS: Now, an “Unmentionable” — a story you won’t hear anywhere in the liberal national media, or nearly all of the national liberal media. Hollywood is once again trying to indoctrinate our children. Two new films out this year, plainly with an agenda, plainly demonizing the so-called “1 percent” and espousing the virtue of green-energy policies, come what may.
There are three things I’d like to point out:
- Generally speaking, I don’t trust anyone to lecture me on “indoctrination” if they’ve had their children baptized before they could walk (not saying Dobbs specifically).
- It’s Dr Muh-fucking Seuss. Take it up with him.
- I would honestly love to see “conservative” child upbringing according to these guys, where children are taught that it’s okay to be greedy and refuse to share, plus not recycle or do anything to protect the environment.
I think that’s what bothers me the most here. We’re at a point where a movie that teaches children rather simple lessons like “don’t fight each other” (pacifism) and “sharing” (socialism) is now “liberal” and therefore “bad”. Nothing that even whiffs of leftism is acceptable to the Teabaggers, which leaves me wondering what kids’ movies are supposed to teach them. I shudder to think what would happen if Hollywood makes the Bitter Butter Battle.
