Hat tip to Rechan here for bringing this to my attention. Not only does the Tea Party scare the bejeezus out of normal people, but it looks like Republicans are starting to become leery of the maniacs as well.
The conclusion is something I’ve said for a while: if they do succeed in yanking a Teabag candidate onto the general election ticket, it’s going to spell outright disaster for them come Super Tuesday. That’s why it’s probably a good thing Obama landed on the ballot and not, say, Kucinich. Sure he makes the base super happy, but he’d drive away everyone else.
I could make a pretty solid Fight Club allegory here with the Tea Party being the GOP’s Tyler Durden, but that’d require more effort than I feel like putting into it.
