Oh by the way, Eric Cantor?

Fuck. You. And I mean that from the heart.

The House majority leader, who did most of the talking for the Republican side, said those taking out student loans should start paying interest right away, rather than being able to defer payments until after graduation. It is a big-ticket item that would save $40 billion over 10 years.

This is the Republican leadership, people. If you’re in a financial bind, you get screwed as much as possible. If you’re wealthy? Well then we’re just gonna keep kissing your ass and making your life even sweeter.

It makes sense, I guess. Poor college students aren’t filling Eric Cantor’s pockets with much money. The top 5%, on the other hand, probably are.

  1. He is a lot like that twelfth grade bully who, after making other students’ lives unpleasant, still gets the credit for something he didn’t do. Don’t you think? Eric Canter is synonymous to bullying. He’s a lot worse than Boehner. That’s just my opinion.

  2. I’m amazed that we’ve gotten to the point where an individual simply has a “right” to other people’s money, and that anybody who’s trying to close the $100 billion/month floodgates must automatically have some nefarious purpose.

Reality hasn’t changed, but some people’s connections to it are definitely in a state of decay.

  3. I say do it, but only on the condition that all banks/corporations who recieved bailout money do the same….immediatly. Fair is fair, if the issue is Gov. money then I see no diff between the two types of loans….also, what if China demanded the US do that with their loan money? There might be a war

  4. Students have become the sharecroppers of 21st century.
