112th Congress is one of the least productive in years

Given that the majority of the GOP platform can be explained as “stop the Democrats from doing anything”, this is hardly surprising.

That’s probably why Congress’s approval rating is 20% or lower, and why I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Democrats take control again.

  1. LOL.  I’m still trying to figure out if Republicans are going to pick up ten seats in the Senate, or only seven.

I would be nothing short of *amazed* if the Democrats take control of the House in 2012.  And I’d be more than a little surprised if Obama keeps the White House.

    • There’s NO one in the Republican field for the White House that can take down Obama. They’d need a kind of superman combination of Barry Goldwater and Eisenhower, and it’s just not gonna happen.

TEN Senate seats? Not gonna happen, dude. Not once the election season starts up and Democrats go for the throat at pointing out the fact that all Republicans have done is obstruct, filibuster, and promote bad policy.

      • Bookmarked.  It’ll be a lot of fun to revisit this after the election next November.

      • Two thirds of Senators who voted for Obamacare haven’t come up for re-election yet.  The biggest cluster of red state Democrats in the Senate was elected in 2006, and they’re up for renewal in ’12.

So yes, it’s as many as ten seats.
