Mark Shields, PBS.

This is America, where a white Catholic male Republican judge was murdered on his way to greet a Democratic Jewish woman member of Congress, who was his friend. Her life was saved initially by a 20-year old Mexican-American gay college student, and eventually by a Korean-American combat surgeon, all eulogized by our African American President.

It really is worth remembering that for all the political divisions, at the end of the day we are one nation.

  1. Those facts are what make Sarah Palin and her followers, including the shooter, so angry.

    • Yeah, because the shooter — when he wasn’t reading the Communist Manifesto or smoking dope — was obviously a big Sarah Palin fan.

Is it really beyond you to confront conservatism on its actual principles, instead of just making up stuff like any sort of tie between Sarah Palin and Jared Loughner? Because if that’s all you’ve got, then you’ve actually got nothing.

      • Notice how the Randroid points out one single book the shooter read, while ignoring all of his extreme right political views and books he read. This is typical of the deceptive spin the fringe right use all the time to obscure the facts.

      • Which “extreme right” political views and books would those be, homo?
