Another ship headed toward Gaza, Israel vows to block it

I kinda sense this whole Israel thing coming to a head soon.

Side note that I’d like to expand upon later: I was talking to a friend about Israel and he, being religious, took the rather headache-inducing but still understandable stance that as the protection of Israel is paramount according to the Bible, it almost doesn’t matter what they do as long as Jerusalem remains safe.

Belief in the doctrine aside, he makes a point: if you truly believe that it is GOD’S COMMAND that you protect a city, how can you justify limiting your actions in the pursuit of that? Of course, that’s also how terrorists justify their actions…

  1. If protection of Israel is paramount, than wouldn't that mean encouraging them to not do things that would put them at further risk/threat from outside forces?

I.e. if protecting a child is very important to you, you do not let the child stick their finger in a light socket because "scolding them would do harm".
