Quick health care thought

Every problem with the health care debate can be explained by the fact that one side is trying to compare universal health care in its entirety with privatized health care as experienced by the richest percentage of people who can afford unfettered coverage.

  1. You're right. I just don't get it. The average Joe keeps on keeping on backing the system that will nail him to the wall down the road. Cannot we cover everyone to some degree, and let Rush go to Costa Rica if that's what he wants?

  3. That's a great point, too. The ultra-wealthy could totally afford to get operations or other procedures done elsewhere if they aren't impressed with American docs. The people who can't afford care currently can't exactly hop up and cross borders. Most of them can barely afford to keep gas in the car.

Heck, even if the right-wing talking point is correct, doctors would be able to make a killing by opening private practices if the system is so bad. Far as I know, there aren't any plans to outlaw private medical practice.
