Being a Democrat is kind of like teaching a very slow child to ride a bike.
You keep your attention on it constantly, hoping against hope that it’ll learn to ride that bike straight down the road after seeing it veer off into trees and hedges and mailboxes again and again. You see him bike faster and faster, wobbling less and less and you think maybe he learned it this time.
And then… “DUKAKIS!” And he crashes into a parked car.
